The ETEC522 – SDL Team

My name is Brenda Spehar and I am an HRIS Administrator at a large school board in the Greater Toronto Area.  I am interested in Self-directed Learning because I have attended training that often did not teach me what I needed to know.  This frustrated me because it took me away from my job, for very little return.  I often hear from our information technology specialists that “Google is my friend” and regularly seek out answers for my technical questions or problems online, through associations I am a member of, or asking a colleague.

 

 

My name is Stefan Rusyniak.  I am currently living in the state of Qatar, where I teach Biology and Genetics to 1st, 2nd and 3rd-year university students.  I am a big fan of lifelong learning and have been using SDL to teach myself a variety of computer-related skills for many years.  I see myself transitioning a lot of my teaching into the online format in the future, and see educational technology as a perfect way of combining my love of teaching with my “computer-geekery.”
